A POPULAR riverside walking route has been damaged after the River Severn burst its banks last week.
The footpath next to Copenhagen Street car park, which follows the River Severn, has several slabs which have come loose.
Worcestershire County Council said it has made the area safe and is assessing the level of damage.
Multiple areas on the footpath have a group of slaps which have become loose.
It comes after the River Severn burst its banks twice already this year.
The date when the path may be mended is unknown due to uncertain weather.
A spokesperson for Worcestershire County Council said: "We have made the area safe and are currently assessing the level of damage.
"We are also considering other factors, such as periods of rain in the coming days, before deciding on the most suitable repair."
