Two Birmingham cocktail bars have been named among the UK’s top 50 for 2024.
Group Director at William Reed, Publisher of Top 50 Cocktail Bars, Chris Lowe said: “It’s so exciting to see so many new names on the list which just highlights the breadth of talent there is across the UK.
“London will always have a decent portion of the list, but it is amazing to see so many other cities show up, like Glasgow and Birmingham. The list continues to grow to help people discover hidden gems and the UK’s best bartending talent.”

Passing Fancies in Digbeth is the highest-ranking Birmingham cocktail bar on the list this year, sitting in 3rd place.
The website says: “There are 12 cocktails on the menu, which include a range of fruity serves like the Nectarine Bellini, Apple Highball, Berry Cobbler and Adult Ribena.”
It adds: “But the flavour profile of the list is expansive: other cocktails include the Salt & Rye, which as its name suggests combines rye, walnut and salt, as well as a classic Espresso Martini.
“There’s also a range of wines available, with the portfolio including bottles from Spain, Australia, France, Portugal and Argentina.”
Fox and Chance came in at 39th place and is said to serve “world-class cocktails” to its visitors.
The website adds: “Great atmosphere and world-class cocktails are promised at Fox & Chance in Birmingham’s city centre, which opened its doors in September 2021.
“The bar on Pinfold Street has previously run whisky and cheese evenings, and every Sunday is Classic Sunday, where two classic cocktails are up for grabs for £6 each.
“You can take a seat at the bar or recline on one of the venue’s comfy sofas for an experience that is sophisticated but laid-back in equal measure. Teal green walls and framed pieces of quirky art add to the cool, bohemian vibe.
“Cocktails include the Rum Rum Plum, which at £10 is a lively and vibrant tipple that mixes Plantation rum with plum and sparkling red wine.”
