Three healthcare support workers have been lauded with a national award from England’s chief nurse.
Jemma Mulrine, John Wilson, and Jade Maddocks, from Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, were presented with the Chief Nursing Officer Healthcare Support Worker Award last Friday.
The annual awards acknowledge the efforts of healthcare support workers and their work in the nursing field.

The winners each received a unique pin badge and certificate signed by NHS chief nursing officer Dame Ruth May.
Colleagues nominated Ms Mulrine, Mr Wilson, and Ms Maddocks for the award.
Ms Mulrine is part of the professional development team, whose role involves educating new healthcare support workers to complete their competency programme and care certificate.
Her colleagues applauded her for her "excellent leadership, warmth, and overwhelmingly positive support within the clinical environment which has made an enormous difference to the retention of our support workers."
Mr Wilson is a healthcare support worker in the emergency department at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
His nomination praised his commitment to showing "compassion and care to patients, relatives, and other staff members".
Ms Maddocks is based on Ward 9 at the Alexandra Hospital, where she continues to provide support for her co-workers and patients.
Her nomination described her as "the type of person to appear with what you need before you even realise you need it yourself".
It also commended her patient handling skills and compassion, whether it's engaging patients in jigsaws to help pass the time, or ensuring colleagues have a fresh hot beverage when they're unable to spare a moment for a break.
Sarah Shingler, the chief nurse of the trust, presented the winners with their awards.
She said: "Healthcare Support Workers are at the heart of clinical settings and make a real difference every day to the lives of patients as well as the nursing and midwifery colleagues they support.
"We’re delighted to have three Healthcare Support Workers receive this honour from Dame Ruth May.
"Jemma, John, and Jade have been fantastic role models and deserve huge recognition and celebration for all that they do."
