A MAN arrested by armed police during dramatic scenes in the city had an imitation firearm and was wanted for an assault.
Selasie Clarke was arrested by armed police in Lowesmoor in Worcester during the incident on Saturday (February 10).
The 49-year-old of Stanley Street, Worcester appeared before Kidderminster Magistrates Court on Monday where he admitted two charges - common assault and possession of an imitation firearm.
He pleaded guilty to possessing an imitation firearm in a public place on Saturday.
The charge states that 'without lawful authority or reasonable excuse' he had with him in a public place an imitation firearm, namely an orange and black hand gun.
Clarke further admitted a common assault against a woman on the same date.

Magistrates handed him a conditional discharge for 12 months.
They ordered the forfeiture and destruction of the imitation orange and black handgun. They also made a restraining order in relation to the victim of the common assault which is due to last until February 11 next year.
Clarke was ordered to pay costs of £185 and a victim surcharge of £26.
A collection order was made. Clarke has until Wednesday, March 13 to pay.
In dramatic footage taken by an eyewitness and shared with the Worcester News, an officer is heard shouting "Armed police show me your hands" while guns are pointed.
After shouts of "Get on the floor" police move in with a dog.
Another eyewitness said: "It happened around 10.30am to 11am.
"There were loads of police - police dogs as well. Armed police were in the street.
"It looked like a man was arrested, he was on the ground.
"It must be serious to have armed police here."
