HISTORY will be brought to life with a bang from melodious Tudor music to a deafening barrage of musket fire with some of the city's best heritage sites forming a dramatic backdrop.
The Living History Show will take place at several venues across Worcester, including the Guildhall, the Commandery, Tudor House, Cathedral Square and Greyfriars on Saturday, February 17 and Sunday, February 18.
This year's event will feature six historic venues, 200 reenactors bringing to life 2,000 years of history with activities starting from around 10.30am on Saturday.
Brian Bullock of Worcester Re-enactors who organised the event said: "We are trying to build up the event, year on year, into a larger history festival. That is our long-term goal. We are hoping we can get a lot more people out to this one. There will be lots of excitement and drama and much more."
There will be a 17th-century pike drill at the Commandery's walled garden in Worcester, Tudor dance and music in the Great Hall and Napoleonic drills and archery displays on Saturday.
The displays at the Commandery will be repeated on Sunday. Medicine though the ages will also feature, whether your interest is in body-snatching or a cure for the Black Death.

In Greyfriars in Friar Street there will be Tudor fine dining, Tudor dance and music and crafts between 10.30am and 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Meanwhile, Tudor House will open from 10am with 'Victorian characters' and activities throughout the day. Called 'The Ragged Victorians', the performance is that of an award-winning living history group, re-enacting the lower classes of Victorian England (around 1851).
In Worcester Guildhall from 10am on Saturday, there will be displays of World War One and World War Two equipment and weapons, including those of the British, German, Finnish, Austrian, American and French.
There will local history societies and interest groups, St Helen's Church in the High Street between 10am and 4pm.
Meanwhile, there will be 1940s military vehicles and infantry, in Cathedral Square on Saturday and Sunday from 10am.
