'EXCITING' plans have been revealed by a restaurant which remains closed after a devastating fire.
The team at Benvenuti revealed it is opening a second venue in Droitwich while it remains closed in Pershore after December's blaze.
It will be moving into the former home of fellow Italian restaurant All'angelo which closed on Saturday, January 27.
However, it looks like the Italian restaurant in Belle House in Bridge Street will remain closed for 18 months while work continues at the building which was severely damaged in the fire.
A statement signed off by the Benvenuti team said: "A big thank you to everyone who been so supportive during a really sad and difficult time.
"In regards to the restaurant, the building insurance have advised us that it will take 18 months to repair in order to get back to the original standards.
"We honestly can’t wait to be able to serve our customers once again in the near future.
"However, we would also like to share some exciting news with you all. We will be opening another restaurant in Droitwich Spa and our lovely team - (Mario, Lorenzo, Luca, Katerina, Ema and Boris) will all be working at Benvenuti Droitwich.
"The opening date will be revealed soon and the menu at Benvenuti Droitwich will be similar to Benvenuti Pershore.
"We would appreciate all your support and we can’t wait to see you all."
December's fire broke out in the early hours in the morning with seven fire engines called to the three-storey building.
The road had closed for several hours while neighbours were forced to evacuate their adjoining homes.
The restaurant has remained closed ever since with customers and residents sharing their upset.
At the time, a Wychavon District Council spokesperson said: "Our hearts go out to Benvenuti Belle House, Pershore, we're sending them all our heartfelt sympathies."
The team at All'angelo announced they were closing after three and a half years in Droitwich.
In a Facebook post to customers, it said: "Dear our valued customers, it has been a pleasure for these 3 and a half years.
"But after giving it some thought, we have chosen to close for good on January 27th.
"Until then we would be really appreciative for any bookings. We will always be grateful for all your custom over the years. Angelo x"
Over 100 messages were left by customers sad to read the restaurant was closing.
