A CITY nursery celebrating its 30th anniversary has received a new Ofsted rating.
Wishing Well Nursery on Rainbow Hill received a good rating and was described by the regulatory body as a place children enjoy going.
In the report, Ofsted said "nurturing leaders and staff" take time building relationships with parents and pupils, who feel supported by the early years education centre.
It added the centre has a good knowledge of safeguarding and provides a range of training opportunities so staff are thoroughly trained.
Oftsed had provided the nursery with one improvement, which was to "build on the good teaching already in place so that all staff consistently challenge children further to make even more progress in all areas of learning".
The nursery is set to turn 30 this year and it said the result was fitting with this year's celebrations.
Mary Felici, nursery manager, said: "It's wonderful to have official recognition of the high-quality childcare service that we offer.
"We are delighted to see the fantastic work we do with our children who require a little extra support.
"The support provided by leaders and staff for children with special educational needs/disabilities is expectations.
"They provide sensitive, nurturing, personalised and highly effective support.
"My team work tirelessly to provide exciting and diverse learning experiences for all children.
"We are very proud to help build the foundation every child needs to have a joy of learning.
"So having Ofsted comment on how we have high expectations for each child and expertly provide clear, simple and consistent boundaries for all children that are embedded through activities makes all the hard work worthwhile."
Wishing Well Nursery is for children aged two to four and looks after 58 children.
It will be holding a reunion fun day on April 6 to mark its 30th year and has focused on raising money for St Richards Hospice as part of its anniversary milestone.
