A FOOTBALL club has submitted major plans to improve its facilities to get promoted.

New Dales Vale FC, based in Windermere Drive at the Archdales Club, has submitted plans to Worcester City Council for new stands and floodlights.

The club currently sits in the Herefordshire Football League Premier, and if it gets promoted, the Football League will require it to make changes to its facilities.

Football League requires clubs to update their facilities based on what league it is in to accommodate the level of fans and fixtures that would take place as a result.

New Dales Vale FC hopes to install a 100-seat spectator stand, a standing area, and six 15-meter tall floodlights.

Part of the plans will also see a two-metre by two-metre entrance pay box located at the south/west corner of the pitch to control entry on match days.

A pitch barrier fence will also be installed to create more of a divide between spectators and players.

The existing parking arrangements remain unaffected by the proposal.

On the planning application, a New Dales Vale FC spokesperson said: "The proposed changes would allow the club to move up from their present position.

"It is required that additional stands are required, along with floodlights, an entrance pay box, replacement dugouts and pitch barrier fencing with a walkway.

"The existing clubhouse will be unaffected by the proposal."

The club is nestled in between Lidl and Sainsburys and has a residential estate opposite.

A spokesperson for New Dales Vale FC said there might be potential concerns with the floodlights from neighbouring properties.

"In order to address potential concerns from neighbouring properties, the lights would be used occasionally during the winter months (October to March) for midweek fixtures, likely on from 1 hour before kick-off (6.45pm) to 5 mins after the end of a match (9.45pm)," it said.

"This would likely be 1 to 2 occasions a month, most likely on a Tuesday night, in addition to Saturdays during the winter months from 4pm to 5pm, depending on the natural light.

"The club does not intend to use the pitch to train during winter months due to the strain this would put on the pitch, and therefore believe the use of the lights would be limited."
