A 34-YEAR-old will face a trial later this year after denying being in charge of an out-of-control XL type pitbull.
We previously reported Jason Watkins, of New Street, Upton-Upon-Severn, entered a not guilty plea when he appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court in January.
Watkins is accused of the offence of being the owner/person in charge of a dog dangerously out of control - no injury.
The alleged offences read: "On June 18, 2023, were in control of a dog, namely an XL Type Pitbull dog, which was dangerously out of control in Upton Upon Severn Play Park."
In the latest hearing of the case at the court a trial date was set by magistrates.
Watkins has been told to attend his expected three-hour trial which will be held at Kidderminster Magistrates Court on May 14.
Watkins has unconditional bail.
Thomas Wickstead appeared for the prosecution, Robert Macrory for the defence during the hearing which took place on Tuesday, January 23.
