WORCESTER could be hit by a blanket of Saharan dust over the "next couple of days" according to the Met Office.
A sandstorm that developed in Africa has whipped dust up into the atmosphere and is now heading towards the UK.
The dust could be deposited in rainfall in parts of the country, with outbreaks of rain showers predicted for the coming days.
The Met Office said Worcester would be "right on the northern edge" of where the dust could be deposited but that not all of the UK would be impacted.
"It’s important to note that it is not a sand storm that could impact the UK," they said.
"The sandstorm was in Africa which whipped dust into the atmosphere. Some of this dust has been drawn northwards in the atmosphere and could be deposited in rainfall in parts of the UK over the next couple of days.
"Worcester would be right on the northern edge of where this might be possible but there could be some dust marks left on cars etc."
