Worcester High Street: Why are people in the trees?

Shoppers out and about in Worcester High Street on Thursday, (January 25), noticed workers were doing something on trees, one even bravely spotted high up in the tree near WHSmith.

Worcestershire County Council Highways tree surgeon contractors were spotted in the street with their equipment, leading to residents wondering what was happening.

We asked the authority with a spokesperson telling us it had been part of a week-long programme.

The spokesperson said: "The work carried out this week on trees on Worcester High Street was part of the county council’s regular maintenance programme.”
