Dogs Trust Evesham's adorable longest staying resident is still searching for his forever home.
Barney, a six year-old Crossbreed, has been with the charity since December 2022, accruing a stay of over 407 days.
Labelled as one of the chaity's 'Underdogs', Barney is part of a group of canines who have been under care for six months or longer, potentially needing extra training or ongoing veterinary care, or in some cases, simply being overlooked.
Barney hopes that 2024 will afford him the chance to find the ‘paw-fect’ home.
He requires a family with older teens, a space as the exclusive pet, and a tranquil area for his daily walks to let off some steam.
His recent successful foster home stint with a Canine Carer from Dogs Trust Kenilworth indicates his adaptability in a home environment.
Chris Slight, rehoming centre manager at Dogs Trust Evesham, said: "In our care, Barney has shown resilience and a positive response to training.
"He has so much love to give, and we're excited to find him the forever family he truly deserves."
He went on to express his hopes for Barney's future, saying: "After spending 407 days in our care, we would love to see Barney find his forever home in 2024.
"We are confident that, with the right family, his progress in a secure home environment will showcase his potential as an affectionate and loyal companion."
