A BRAND new gym is set to open at the former Brintons Carpets factory site next month following a £1million investment.
Foundry Gym, which has branches across the West Midlands, is opening its biggest site yet in Kidderminster.
It's set to offer facilities for weightlifting, mixed martial arts, boxing, functional training and strongman.
Joe Bland, who founded Foundry Gym with his father Kelvin, said he decided to open a new site in Kidderminster because of people travelling from the area to visit their other nearby gyms in Dudley and Wolverhampton.
The new gym, located in a 20,000 sqft section of the old Brinton Carpets site, off Stourport Road, is set to open on February 24.
Mr Bland said: "An impressive one million pounds is being invested into the old Brintons Carpets factory to create the gym.
Foundry Gyms have grown from two sites five years ago to ten locations currently. Our plan for 2024 is to open another five sites around the UK, Each gym is run by individual owners as we have a franchise-based business model.
"We pride ourselves on delivering the best equipment money can buy, but at the same time creating a friendly and community feel in each of our destinations, that is affordable to everyone.
"As we grow as a company our team is expanding with six of us working full time opening new sites alongside our new franchisees and all the contractors".
The franchise owners for the Kidderminster site are Mr Jaskamal Singh and Mr Tanraj Sangha, who both already operate a Foundry Gym franchise in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
Mr Bland added: "Our monthly charge when we are open will be £28.99 per month on a no-contract basis, although we are offering early joiners a discount at the moment of just £10.99 for the first month.
