A SERIOUS crash on the M5 led to a carriageway being closed during Storm Isha.
Emergency services were dealing with a serious crash on the M5 southbound, which closed near junction 4a.
Drivers were warned to watch out for large patches of water and to expect delays due to the closure.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "Emergency services are dealing with a serious RTC on the M5 Southbound between J4 - J4A close to J4A itself.
"The carriageway is currently closed. Please expect delays and watch out for large patches of water."
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 9.11pm on Sunday to a road traffic collision involving two cars on the M5 between junctions 4 and 4A in Catshill, Bromsgrove.
"One ambulance and a paramedic officer attended the scene. Upon arrival, we found a man who was the driver of one of the cars.
"He did not require assessment from ambulance staff and received self-care advice from ambulance staff before being discharged at the scene.”
We have contacted Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue for a comment.
It has now reopened.
