A CITY pub will reopen this weekend to give people the chance to remember a popular landlord.
Alex Pope, the landlord of the Paul Pry, died at the age of 39 and in the days since the announcement last weekend hundreds of tributes have poured in for him.
The pub, based in The Butts, has been closed since the news came out but now Mr Pope's family have announced the pub will open on Sunday to give people a chance to raise a glass to him.
A statement on Paul Pry's Facebook page said: "Alex's family and friends would like to thank each and every one of you who've shown your overwhelming love, support and generosity to us over the past few days since his passing.
"We will be reopening the pub this Sunday, January 21, from 3pm so that we may raise a glass to remember Alex and share our memories of him together."
A GoFundMe page set up in memory of the landlord earlier this week which is helping to pay for funeral costs and the pub's running costs has so far raised nearly £15,000.
