A RARE vinyl of the celebrated Lord of the Rings author reading (and singing) his books has sold for more than £200 from an online shop.
J.R.R. Tolkien reads and sings his The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring has been sold on eBay for £218.99 by a seller from Malvern.
The Caedmon Records vinyl, which was described as being 'near mint' condition, is a first edition and dates from 1975. The photo shows the original paper sleeve.
Malvern, where the seller is based, is often thought to have inspired Middle Earth, the setting of many of Tolkien's books including The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.
It is sometimes said the Malvern Hills were the inspiration for the White Mountains.
