The top seven holiday hacks to save money while you're travelling have been revealed
Flight price comparison website Wowtickets.com is aiming to help those with financial concerns stretch their holiday budgets further.
Here are the seven tips:
1. Take advantage of cheaper destinations

Not all destinations are equal when it comes to cost. For example, a three-course meal in Ibiza could cost 200 Euros versus 20 Euros in Menorca.
Less-trodden locales such as Bulgaria, Menorca, Turkey, and Egypt for short-haul flights, and Thailand, Cape Town, and Mexico for longer trips, are recommended.
These destinations were selected based on competitive flight prices and low living costs.
2. Plan before you leave for your trip
Wowtickets.com recommends a strategy of setting aside £200 a month per person.
This steadily amounts to a healthy pot of £2400 across a year, or £4,800 for couples.
3. Consider your currency
Exchange rates can make a huge difference in affordability.
Wowticekts.com suggests benefitting from the pound's recent increases in Turkey, Sri Lanka, Argentina, Hungary, Japan, Sweden, Egypt, and South Africa.
Conversely, it advises tourists to avoid destinations where the pound remains weak, such as the USA.
4. Create a holiday budget
Detailed forward planning and pre-booking activities will help prevent unnecessary spending.
Additionally, holidaymakers are recommended to set firm spending limits on in-person purchases.
5. Get savvy about those suppers
An all-inclusive package might appear more cost-effective initially, but a more DIY approach could offer bigger savings.
Opting for a late breakfast and skipping lunch can both save money and help keep local businesses coffers flowing.
6. Be flexible with travel dates
By avoiding school holiday periods, travellers can dodge noisier trips and premium prices.
7. Book with a provider that offers a loyal incentive
Discounts for repeat customers, hotel points, air miles, and promotional codes are all beneficial and could even provide free future travel opportunities.
Founder and managing director of Wowtickets.com, Dimitri Konovalovas said: "Many are facing rising costs of food, fuel and mortgages, and frankly we need these holidays to get us through the dark winter periods and give us all something to look forward to."
"We hope our holiday hints help people who are feeling the pinch to see that by being a little bit smarter with how we search for travel, we can still enjoy our holidays this year.”
