A walking group that help men make new friends is marking its two-year anniversary tomorrow tonight (January 11).
The Worcester Men Walking and Talking Group meet every Thursday in The Range car park on Tybridge Street at 7.30pm - unless its flooded and then they meet in Sainsburys St Johns car park.
They walk and chat for around an hour – for some it can be a way to have company or just to see a friendly face.
Neil Pettifer, organiser, said: “Guys come along for all sorts of reasons, a friendly ear to listen, making friends in Worcester or just some company while they walk the dog.
“It's been amazing to see so many people come together and benefit from each other’s company and even form new friendships.
“The biggest challenge I've faced since setting up the group is how to spread the word about who we are and what we do.
“It would be great to reach as many men as possible for our landmark second anniversary.”
If the weather is really bad then the group go for a coffee and a chat in McDonalds in St Johns which is in the car park too. Although, their usual meeting place by The Range has two hours free parking.
There is also a group on Facebook where guys can get in touch and ask questions about the Worcester walk and other local walks.
Neil is happy for people to reach out to him on there with any questions.
Search ‘Men Walking and Talking’ on Facebook.
