A care home recently donated 150 shoeboxes to a day centre that care for the homeless.
The staff members at Latimer Court, in Worcester, collected items such as food, toys, toiletries, and clothing to donate to Maggs Day Centre.
The venture was organized by care assistant Lucie Haines, who surpassed her initial goal of gathering 10 shoeboxes, rounding up enough contributions to put together over 150 boxes.
Ms Haines said: "I wanted to raise donations for the homeless this year as I went through a personal experience of being at risk of homelessness myself.
"I am truly grateful for every donation I have received so thank you."
Melissa Blewitt, marketing and relations officer at the day centre, said: "The team at Maggs are amazed by Lucie’s hard work on securing donations for us and her fantastic work will mean that our services will be stocked for our service users to benefit from for a long period.
"Thank you Lucie for thinking of Maggs and helping us bring cheer to the homeless this Christmas."
Donna Tustin, general manager at Latimer Court, said: "We are always keen to show as much support as we can to local charities.
"We dedicated an area in our reception where staff members, residents and their loved ones could generously donating.
"We had a tremendous response from local organisations who also donated so freely, which is so kind and thoughtful.
"I have been simply blown away by everyone’s generosity and the amount we had donated, even in these very difficult times."
