Dogs Trust Evesham: 7 dogs need new homes this year

The centre has plenty of dogs available whether you’re looking for a new puppy to welcome into the family or you want to give an older dog a loving forever home.

If you can’t adopt a furry friend but still want to help, you can support the centre’s work by giving a donation.

Skye

Gender – Female

Age – 8 years

Breed – German Shepherd cross

Skye is looking for a quiet retirement home where she can enjoy quiet walks.

She can take some time to feel comfortable but is an affectionate girl who likes fuss.

Her new home needs to be adult-only and without any other dogs although she doesn't mind dogs when she's out and about.

Korra

Gender – Female

Age – 2 years

Breed – Siberian Husky

Korra is energetic and could live with another dog, depending on a successful mix at the centre.

She can live with older teenagers who are aged 16 or over and are used to a bigger dog.

Which dog breeds are banned in the UK?

Laya

Gender – Female

Age – 3 years

Breed – Australian Kelpie

Laya is looking for an active home with owners who can help her do a bit of training as she can find other dogs scary. The centre’s training team can help if needed.

She would be fine to live with children who are a secondary school age but she’d need to be the only pet in the house.

Laya needs a garden that is very secure as she likes to try and escape.

Poppy

Gender – Female

Age – 8+

Breed – Hungarian Vizsla cross

Poppy is looking for her retirement home and came into the centre due to her owner being ill.

She’s finding life confusing at the moment and her vision isn’t great so she has some worries and can be a bit vocal on the first meeting.

Poppy will show you how lovely she is if you can take it slowly and let her choose how to interact with you.

She likes to see other dogs when she’s out and about but she’d like to be the only pet in her home.

Echo

Gender – Male

Age – 2 years

Breed – Belgian Shepherd (Malinois)/Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross

Echo is timid and looking for a moderate home environment in a house that’s in a low traffic area.

He needs a home where any children are of secondary school age and are dog savvy with experience around larger breeds.

Echo must be the only pet in his new home and a secure garden would be ideal for him.

Bumble

Breed – Greyhound

Bumble is an ex-racer and he’s looking for a new home which could be his first.

A moderately busy home should be fine for him and on walks he’ll need to be kept on a lead due to his racing background.

Bumble could live with other dogs who are calm and of a similar size if they mix well at the centre.

He can’t live with cats or small furry animals but he can live with sensible teenagers who will know when to give him space.

Blue

Age – 5 years

Breed – German Shepherd

Blue needs a quiet and adult-only home as he is shy and can get worried.

He could live with another dog who is of a similar size and temperament if they successfully mix at the centre.

While Blue hasn’t got any history of living with cats or small furry animals, he hasn’t shown any interest in cats out and about.
