A FLOOD warning has been issued on part of the River Severn.
The warning has been issued this afternoon, (December 28), for the river at Court Meadow, Kempsey and Callow End.
The warning says: "Flooding is expected - immediate action required.
"River levels are rising at the Kempsey Yacht Club river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall.
"We expect flooding to affect Court Meadow Caravan Park. Predicted Peak:- Kempsey Yacht Club 5.9m to 6.2m Friday overnight.
"Further rainfall is forecast over the next 48 hours. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences.
"Please avoid using low-lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low-lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded."
As we reported earlier a flood alert currently remains on the rest of the river.
