VOLUNTEERS will collect and recycle Christmas trees this January to help a hospice raise funds for its care.

Now in its eighth year, the St Richard’s Hospice Christmas Tree Collection will take place on Sunday, January 7 and Monday, January 8.

Households and businesses can register their real tree before 11pm on Tuesday, January 2, and volunteers will collect it to be recycled.

Ria Simons, corporate fundraising lead at St Richard’s Hospice, said: “We’re delighted to once again offer our community hassle-free tree collection and recycling in the New Year.

“Last year’s collection raised a tremendous amount and made such a difference in helping us continue to fund our care for patients and their loved ones.

“We are so grateful to everyone for getting behind this campaign and helping to make it a success for St Richard’s year-on-year.”

Volunteers will collect trees in the WR1, WR2, WR3, WR4, WR5, WR6, WR7, WR8, WR9, WR10, WR11, WR12, WR13, WR14 and WR15 postcode areas.

Anyone who registers a tree for collection will have the option to donate to St Richard’s Hospice.
