THANKS to a bit of Christmas magic - and the power of social media - a nursing home's festive party plans were saved after their entertainer cancelled.
Staff and volunteers at The Lawns Nursing Home in Main Road, Kempsey swung into action after their Christmas party plans were thrown awry at the last minute.
They were stuck trying to find a singer a few hours before their residents' highly anticipated festive party after their scheduled entertainer was forced to cancel.
The team swung into action and were inundated with offers thanks to a post on their - and the Worcester News' - Facebook page.
Worcester News shared a post saying: "Help! The Lawns Nursing Home in Kempsey needs a Christmas miracle.
"The entertainment for this afternoon's Christmas party has just cancelled and they desperately need a vocalist to sing to 50 residents from 3pm to 4pm.
"Let's help them find someone."
Kindhearted people were quick to offer help or suggest talented friends and family after reading the plea.
The post was also shared 170 times as people were desperate to help the party go with a bang.
Among them was Zoe Francis from My Music Works who took the day off work and dressed in her most festive top to sing to the nursing home's residents and their families.
It even led to another heartwarming moment when a non-verbal resident stood and said "lovely" after the singing.
Joy Hoskins, the home's lifestyle and wellbeing lead, said: "Thanks to the power of social media we had a wonderful lady come and join us for the afternoon and the atmosphere was absolutely wonderful.
"Family and friends joined us to celebrate and make more memories.
"What makes it even more special is when a lady with no conversation stands up and just says 'lovely' - that's a moment when you know your job is the best in the world."
She went on to wish everyone who helped a merry Christmas from the Lawns.
It was one of a schedule of festive events with the residents set to enjoy a snowball fight this afternoon (Thursday) with a visit from Olaf, some Baileys hot chocolate and more laughter.
