IT was a moment to be treasured forever as a Worcester woman received her MBE from King Charles III at Windsor Castle.
Lisa Ventura, from Lower Wick, said she was humbled to receive the award for services to cyber security and diversity and inclusion.
The 50-year-old was awarded an MBE in the King’s first birthday honours list in June 2023.
Mrs Ventura said: “To be awarded with an MBE by King Charles III for services to cyber security and diversity and inclusion is an incredible honour and I feel very humbled to be one of those selected to receive one out of so many worthwhile individuals, it is life changing for me.
"With cyber-crime being so prevalent today, and people’s lives turned upside down due to financial loss because of cyber-crime, it is vital that as much awareness is raised as possible of the growing cyber threat and for the cyber security industry to come together and unite to try and help combat the growing threats, and that is why I founded Cyber Security Unity.
"There is also a huge lack of awareness of neurodiversity, and as someone who is autistic and has ADHD, much of my work is also focused on also helping those who are neurodivergent into careers in cyber security."
The King’s Birthday honours list recognises the achievements of a wide range of people across the United Kingdom.
