AFTER significant investment and three months of renovations a Droitwich pub is set to reopen - and is the first of its kind.
The Castle in Droitwich Spa will officially reopen on Monday, January 8 with bookings now live.
The Castle will be the first pub in the UK to launch Greene King’s brand-new pub concept, Seared, which features drinks and dishes from around the world.
The seven-figure refurbishment combines the pub’s heritage with flavours from all corners of the globe including Turkey, India, Korea, and Spain.
The all-new freshly grilled, globally inspired Seared menu will take guests on an adventure through food and drink, all from the comfort of the Droitwich pub.
From South American steak and Korean fried chicken burgers to British pub staples such as Hunter’s chicken and fish and chips are included in the menu.
Alongside the new menu, The Castle will unveil a brand-new interior that takes inspiration from travelling the world, including a vibrant bar, elevated areas for drinking and dining, spaces to watch live sport and play pool, as well as a new outdoor area.
With community at its heart, the new investment has created an additional 20 jobs for the area, alongside retaining the majority of The Castle’s previous pub team, including general manager, Rebecca Hall.
Natalia Perez, brand director at Greene King, said: “We’re dedicated to bringing new and exciting experiences to our guests all over the country, and we can’t wait to launch our latest concept, Seared, at The Castle in January.

“Following a huge appetite for global food trends over recent years, Seared will offer the chance to experience a world of flavours in the relaxed setting of a much-loved local pub.
"For our guests living in Droitwich Spa and wider Worcestershire, this gives them the opportunity to enjoy a huge range of cuisines and dishes, right on their doorstep.
“Our guests can expect vibrant interiors and globally inspired, affordable dishes that pair perfectly with new international draught lagers, cocktails and soft drinks.”
Rebecca Hall, general manager of The Castle, said: “We’re excited to finally open our doors once again in January and for our customers to enjoy a taste of something different, and unlike anything else we have in and around Droitwich, in the New Year.
“Whether you’re a returning regular or a new guest ready to discover the food and drink on offer, The Castle remains a local community pub at heart, and we’ll continue to offer a warm welcome to all, no matter the occasion.”
The Castle will officially reopen its doors at 73 Worcester Road, Droitwich Spa at 11am on Monday, January 8, where it will also be allowing guests to be part of giveaways in celebration of its official launch.
Table bookings are now live and can be made at www.searedpubs.co.uk.
