THE CLEAN-UP has begun after recent flooding along the river Severn in Worcester has caused muddy and slippery riverside paths.
Council crews wearing white overalls and armed with shovels are clearing up piles of mud left behind after the recent flooding.
All flood alerts and flood warnings have been removed from the river Severn as well as the river Avon and Bow and Piddle Brook by the Environment Agency.
The flood alert for the River Severn in Worcestershire was removed at just before 8.30am this morning (Monday).
Kempsey village was also issued a flood warning - which means flooding is expected and residents should act now - but that was also removed this morning (Monday).
A flood alert does remain on the river Severn in neighbouring county Gloucestershire.
A Worcester City Council spokesman said: "Good news! The river level is falling so council teams are in action to hose down the riverside paths and get them mud-free - ready to welcome back walkers and cyclists."
Flooding affected Seaborne Leisure Holiday and Touring Park in Court Meadow last week.
When a Worcester News reporter visited the site on Monday, December 11 staff said there were no concerns as it had appeared to have already peaked there as the level was going down.
Caravans are elevated on the site with no damage caused if water builds up underneath while the owners added they had everything needed if the site fully flooded including pumps.
