Worcester News readers have been discussing what they would most like to see replace the old Debenham's building on the High Street.
With the building having stood empty since January 2021 with plans of a food hall appearing to have stalled, a range of ideas has sprung from the city's residents on Facebook about how to utilise the space.
Julianna Tetsell suggested "a good indoor market concentrated on small businesses and craft stalls" to boost community enterprise, with Jordan Wilson echoing: "Smaller, independent businesses and no more coffee shops or Turkish barbers," implying a saturation of these establishments in Worcester.

John Cook simply said: "Bring back Woolworths," echoing a sentimental longing for the bygone retail giant.
Diverse suggestions came pouring in, from a comedy club proposed by Andy Prosser, to a centre for the homeless and vulnerable, suggested by Heather Gaylard.
Andria MacMurray was reading from a similar hymn sheet, commenting: "I think a place for the homeless, their dogs and elderly people to sit, talk and keep warm."
Thoughts turned to retail outlets too, with Donna Bird commenting: "JOHN LEWIS."
However, some seemed to hold a flame for the previous occupant, as Lisa Hull wrote: "Debenhams" and Julie Ludlam said: "So miss Debenhams."
The conversation evolved further with Shannon Flaherty suggesting something for the youth, writing: "Like an arcade or indoor karting, something like that," and Rocsaan Cooper highlighting the need for more clothing stores "to attract more people into the town."
The former Debenhams building was set to start developments to become an Artisan Food Hall in April 2021, however, plans have since stalled due to the building owners not making their final payment for the work, the company has claimed.
The hall was planned to feature baristas, a city garden, a space available for rent for events and a basement shopping spot as well as a variety of food outlets such as sushi, an Italian deli, a bakery and pop-up chefs.
Despite hopeful messages from the project's team, no further progress has been made since June 2022, leaving the site dormant and the community curious for its future.
