THE predicted peak for the river Severn has been moved to later in the week as heavy rain continues to fall.
There is still a flood alert on the Severn in Worcestershire with the water levels now expected to peak on Friday in the city.
Kempsey remains on a flood warning with flooding expected.
The Environment Agency expects flooding to affect low lying land and roads adjacent to the river from Highley to Tewkesbury.
Locations affected are Stourport, Holt Fleet, Worcester, Kempsey, Severn Stoke and Upton upon Severn.
People living in properties which could be affected by flooding are being told to install property level protection if required.
The river Severn is currently expected to peak on Friday afternoon in Worcester with water levels expected to reach between 4.2m to 4.5m.
The river Severn at Diglis could also reach between 4m to 4.2m on Friday afternoon.
Bewdley will peak between 3.5m to 3.8m Friday morning, Kempsey Yacht Club between 6m to 6.3m on Friday afternoon and Saxons Lode in Upton-upon-Severn from 4.7m to 4.9m on Friday overnight.
The Environment Agency said: "Further rainfall is forecast over the next 48 hours.
"We are closely monitoring the situation.
"Please avoid using low-lying footpaths near local watercourses and avoid contact with flood water."
One road remain closed in Worcestershire - Mill Lane in Hanley Castle - as Eckington Bridge reopens.
The flood warning remains in place for River Severn at Court Meadow, Kempsey and Callow End with Environment Agency incident response staff checking defences and liaising with emergency services and local authorities.
It said: "Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded and move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety."
The river Avon levels have peaked and are starting to fall at the Evesham river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall.
The Environment Agency said: "We expect flooding to affect low lying land and roads adjacent the River Avon from Abbotts Salford to Tewkesbury.
"Other locations that may be affected include Offenham, Evesham, Twyning and the Eckington Road."
Weather forecast for Worcester
The Met Office predicts Thursday will start with cloud and showery rain clearing southeast through Thursday morning with sunnier skies into the afternoon.
There will be generally light winds and temperatures above average with a maximum temperature of 10C.
It will be mostly cloudy on Friday and over the weekend, with outbreaks of rain and drizzle over any hills.
Breezy at times with temperatures generally above average, particularly by night, said The Met Office.
