Severn Trent is urging customers to insulate their water pipes to protect them against freezing temperatures this winter.

Customer contact lead at Severn Trent, Jodie Bowen, said: "Freezing temperatures can cause a lot of problems for pipes around the home.

"This is why we are encouraging everyone to start their wrapping now, so that their pipes are protected."

Tips for safeguarding water pipes include waterproof foam wrapping and knowing your home's stop tap location.

Owners are responsible for internal pipes, and professional plumber assistance is available if needed.
