A WHITE van was left stranded in flood waters sparking an important warning from police.

The van was caught in flooding at the Tibberton underpass in Droitwich after heavy rain on Monday (December 4).

Flooding has continued today with a flood alert placed on the river Salwarpe and the river Severn in Worcester.

It sparked a stark warning from Droitwich police officers who spotted the stricken van.

A spokesperson for Droitwich Cops said: "Please do not drive into flood water, it's not worth the risk to yourself and your vehicle.

"It also puts others in danger rescuing you as well.

"An eggcup of water in your engine is enough to wreck it."
