A Severn Valley Railway (SVR) volunteer is set to bring festive cheer to Stourport with his annual Christmas light display.
From November 24 to January 31, 2024, Nick Wright is hosting a spectacular show with over 25,000 lights and 18 different songs to raise much-needed funds for the SVR.
Mr Wright has been volunteering with the heritage railway for more than 10 years and hopes the money raised will help keep the attraction running for many more years in the future.
The guard, shunter and signalman said: “Your donations will help restore heritage steam trains and carriages. A steam train can only be in service for 10 years before its boiler needs to be overhauled.
“A locomotive can cost in excess of £250,000 to restore and every donation helps this valuable cause.”
The volunteer hopes to raise £2,000 by the end of the event next year and has currently received £678 in donations.
The light display is free to attend with shows taking place every day at DY13 8NN from 5pm to 9pm.
There is also a sensory display with no music and gentle lights every Sunday from 5pm to 6pm.
