Residents of Worcestershire have been encouraged to reduce waste this festive season.
Worcestershire County Council have issued the appeal ahead of Christmas, in which a third of waste is generated in comparison with other times of the year.
Councillor Richard Morris, the council's member for the environment, said: "Many of us tend to buy more than we need at Christmas.
"The good news is, so many people do their bit to reduce waste.
"I'd like to thank everyone in advance for their efforts to recycle over the festive period."
Throughout December, the council will share tips to minimise waste.
