THREE marathon rowers completed their challenge to raise much-needed funds for West Mercia Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre this weekend.
Kerrie Best, Aaron Keay and Neil Blake completed their challenge of rowing 42,195 metres each to raise funds for West Mercia Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre children’s counselling on Sunday, November 26 at Roots Fitness in Droitwich.
The team thanked everyone who supported them and for the donations received.
Kerrie Best, head of operations and one of the rowing trio said: ”It was a fantastic experience. Hard work, and a long way to row.
"We have come away with a few blisters and sore muscles but with a huge appreciation for everyone who has supported us.
“We all got to eat a carb-filled celebratory meal afterwards and wanted to thank the Swan at Upton Warren for their fantastic food and for their donation to the fundraiser as well.
"Having worked for WMRSASC for 15 years I know how vital it is to provide this support for children who have experienced sexual violence and any amount of funding the row raises will be put to good use.”
The marathon has raised over £500 so far, all going to support children who have experienced sexual abuse.
