AN ELDERLY woman has been seriously hurt following a crash in Barbourne Lane.
The woman has been taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital after being hit by a van this afternoon (Tuesday).
Barbourne Road remains closed in both directions while emergency services are on site.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 3.37pm to a road traffic collision involving a van and a pedestrian at the junction of Barbourne Lane and the A38 in St Stephen, Worcester.
"One ambulance attended the scene.
"Upon arrival we found an elderly woman who was the pedestrian.
"She was assessed and had sustained potentially serious injuries.
"She received treatment at the scene before being conveyed to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for further assessment."
Buses are being diverted following the crash.
A spokesperson FirstWorcester said: "Due to the closure of Barbourne Road, Worcester, 144 services are diverted in both directions via Rainbow Hill and Perdiswell Island.
"All stops between Foregate Street Station and Penbury Street will not be served at this time."
