FATHER Christmas was 'arrested' for 'not bringing security guards their presents' in a festive prank which made the crowds giggle.
Santa joked 'Saint Nick has just been nicked!' when has caught red-hatted by two security guards at Cathedral Square in Worcester on Saturday after the Christmas lights switch on.
The joke brought a smile when security guards Danny Haste and Luke Candelent 'apprehended' Santa.
However, children need not be alarmed. After a short interrogation, Santa was released without charge - and no stain upon his character - in time to bring the presents this Christmas.
