Worcester Cathedral has launched a financial appeal ahead of a series of festive services this Christmas period.
Like many historic buildings, around the country, the Cathedral is currently experiencing financial hardship and is hopeful that their Christmas Appeal will help amass crucial funds towards its maintenance and mission.
Their seasonal services include the Christmas Tree Festival, the Christmas Eve Crib Services complete with real donkeys and sheep, midnight mass, a special concert and the newly introduced Shoppers’ Carols, with thousands expected to attend throughout the festive period.

In his message to the community ahead of the festivities, Canon Stephen Edwards, the interim Dean, said: "This Christmastime it is my pleasure to invite you and your loved ones to join the many activities, events, and services at Worcester Cathedral.
"The Cathedral is a place of worship, a cherished historic building, a place of celebration, and a home to joyful music of all kinds.
"But, most of all, the Cathedral is a gathering together of people, and every individual in our community is a vital piece."
He added: "The theme of our Christmas this year is ‘Togetherness’ – and in our wide range of both traditional and innovative services and music concerts we will celebrate those special bonds we share.
"So please do visit us this Christmastime and make our welcoming, historic Cathedral part of your Christmas celebrations this year, and if you feel able to donate to our Christmas appeal, help us to be here for years to come."
