POLICE have revealed they were in a city centre street to carry out a drugs warrant following concerns from the public.
A police van was seen parked up outside terraced houses in Bridge Street, Worcester, at around 10.30am on Wednesday morning, (November 22).
There were two officers and one of them was pictured looking up at one of the homes.
A police car was also spotted near Crowngate Shopping Centre.
A Worcester News reporter visited the scene when there was one police officer left, who was leaving Bridge Street at around 10.50am.
Shops in the area were not aware of the incident, a shop worker telling us they heard the sirens.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "Officers executed a warrant following community concerns of drug dealing and activity within a home on Newport Street.
"While no drugs were located on this occasion there will be follow-up enforcement relating to breaches of anti-social behaviour legislation that has been in place to disrupt the activity.
"The local safer neighbourhood team and city officers will continue to seek out intelligence and take advantage of any opportunities to pro-actively target drug dealers and reduce the harm drug activity causes communities."
