BRANDING for a new city bar is beginning to go up ahead of its opening at a former Wetherspoons pub site.

Work has been going on for months at the former Postal Order pub after Wetherspoons decided to close the pub for good in January.

The former pub at 18 Foregate Street, which is on the corner with Pierpoint Street, is to become Aurora Bar and Grill.

New lighting was switched on, and the 'A' logo of the new bar could be seen in the windows.

It still remains unclear when the opening date will be.

The city's Wetherspoons pub went up for sale by Savills Estate agency in the summer of last year.
