The public have been made aware of indicators of domestic abuse following an appeal from Worcestershire County Council.

The council is hosting this year's White Ribbon Conference on Friday, November 24.

The conference, part of the 16 days of action to end violence against women, will provide vital information such as recognising the signs of domestic abuse affecting colleagues, friends or family members.

Councillor Karen May said: "Increasing our knowledge and confidence around this subject is a key part of our approach to tackling violence against women, girls and all victims of abuse across our two communities.

"This year we will be hearing about businesses and what they can to do support this issue.

"So we urge business owners and leaders to sign up and find out what they can do to play their part."

The event will be held virtually from 9.30am to 3.15pm and is free to join.

Martin Lakeman, conference organiser, added: "This is such an important issue and increasing your understanding of what we all can do will have a huge impact on those who are experiencing domestic abuse.

"No one should have to suffer in silence.

"The conference is open to anyone, there is no cost to join us online and you can be anonymous."
