Healthcare leaders in Herefordshire and Worcestershire have urged locals to reconsider their antibiotics usage
The warning comes ahead of Saturday, November 18, the start of World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week.
The World Health Organisation has warned that antibiotic resistance is a major concern for global health.
Chief medical officer of NHS Herefordshire and Worcestershire, Will Taylor, said: "Always take your healthcare professionals’ advice on whether you need antibiotics and take them exactly as prescribed.
"Never save them for later and never share them with others.
"We are urging patients to work with us to reduce unnecessary antibiotic use."
