The English Symphony Orchestra will visit Worcester on Thursday (November 23) for a performance of Desire for Life.
At 7:30pm, audiences at the Guildhall will be treated to music inspired by or written during a time the composers were oppressed through exile or imprisonment.
The programme features Shostakovich’s Chamber Symphony Op. 118a, arranged by Barshai, as well as works by Mieczysław Weinberg, Hans Gál and Kenneth Woods' arrangement of Viktor Ullmann.
Tickets are available for £20, with free entry for under 18s and carers.
