POLICE stopped 40 vehicles during an operation near Worcester.

Safer Neighbourhood Policing teams from multiple areas across the South Worcestershire met in Droitwich today for operation Roundway.

The operation was a priority for West Mercia, helping to ensure safety on the roads.

PC Luke Bullock, of the Droitwich town west and rural west safer neighbourhood policing team, said:

"In total there were 40 vehicles stopped and spoken to by the police and our partner agencies around vehicle conditions, waste carrier licences and trader checks and several offences were dealt with and education provided."

Safer neighbourhood teams from Droitwich, Malvern and Evesham, plus the roads policing team and the neighbourhood crime fighting team were invovled in the operation.

Partner agencies, including Wychavon District Council, Worcestershire Trading Standards, Worcester Regulatory Services and HMRC were also invovled for Operation Roundway.
