A big Christmas tree has gone up in the city centre as Worcester prepares for its lights switch-on.

The tree was installed today (Thursday, November 16) on the Cathedral Square roundabout.

A lane in College Street was closed for the morning as a crane lifted the tree into place.

Festive lights have already been put up around Cathedral Square and the rest of the city centre ahead of Worcester’s lights switch-on event, which takes place on Saturday, November 25.

The big switch-on will feature live music and other entertainment on a stage in Cathedral Square from 4pm to 7pm, plus a festive parade from The Hive.
