Firefighters were called out to a garden fire in Worcester yesterday evening (Wednesday, November 15).

A Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said a crew from Worcester Fire Station was called at 6pm to a “fire in the open” in Wainwright Road.

“A large quantity of garden waste was on fire and this was extinguished using one hosereel jet before being checked for hotspots using a thermal imaging camera.

“There were no casualties and no other emergency services attended. The incident was marked as pending closure at 7.05pm.”
