WORCESTER has claimed a top spot for top festive getaways in the UK this Christmas.
A new study, conducted by Christmas Tree World, analysed factors such as number of restaurants and attractions, average nightly price for a hotel during December and each location’s level of interest on social media to reveal the best-rated locations for festive staycations.
Worcester came in fifth on the list of the best 'hidden gem getaways' in the UK, with a night away setting visitors back by an average of £104.
The nearby city go Gloucester sealed the top spot for the best 'hidden gem' getaway, and the West Midlands town of Stratford-upon-Avon came in at third.
The full list can be seen below:
One of the reasons for Worcester's inclusion on the list is the annual Victorian Christmas Fayre which is always a popular event for tourists.
Christmas Tree World is an online retail site, selling a wide variety of Christmas trees.
