THE sentencing of a former employee who stole thousands from a Worcester pub has been delayed again by a judge who said it would be the final time.
Jamie King admitted stealing from the safe of the Cardinal's Hat pub in Friar Street as we reported in March.
After a dispute over the amount taken King later accepted stealing £3,350 when he was in the position of responsibility to bank the pub's takings.
King, of Fortuna Way, Kempsey, was arrested after a bookkeeper found there were shortages between December 28, 2021, and February 23, 2022.
King returned to Worcester Crown Court for what was scheduled to be his sentence on Thursday, (November 2).
At the start of the hearing his barrister, Jason Aris, explained the case was previously adjourned so that probation could confirm online work - required under a previous order - had been completed.
Mr Aris said probation had not been able to access this information and King had not brought with him to court proof he had completed the work.
The barrister said "regrettably" he was asking for another adjournment so progress could be made.
Garry Cook, prosecuting, described it as "unfortunate" but said the crown wouldn't oppose one further adjournment.
Judge Martin Jackson said it was frustrating but announced he would adjourn again describing it as the "last chance" for all matters to be resolved.
He told King to return to Worcester Crown Court for sentencing on November 10.
