A CITY restaurant remains shut months after closing and remains unsold despite going up for auction.
The former Be The Change building in New Street, Worcester, closed its doors seven months ago and has remained empty ever since.
The previous owners of the venue revealed they would be closing the store in April and since then the building has been for sale and later put up for auction with Bond Wolfe.
The venue remained unsold from the auction, which took place on Thursday, October 26.
According to Bond Wolfe, the building is being sold as a former restaurant and an AirBnB with converted rooms on its upper floors.
It went for auction with the guide price of £410,000.
Vegan restaurant Be The Change reopened under new ownership in 2022 after closing temporarily and being listed for sale in the same year.
The reason behind the recent permanent closure is still unknown but on Facebook the owners said: "We have taken the difficult decision to close the doors at BTC.
"We have given it our best shot and understand it was no easy position to fill.
"As we come to terms with this decision, we thank everyone who has supported our small business over the past few months."
The business previously had two different locations in Worcester, including a restaurant on New Street and Be The Change Bake A Difference on Cornmarket.
The cafe in Cornmarket is now home to Pack It In Zero Waste Living.
Be The Change first opened its cafe in 2018, which proved to be so popular that it opened a second venue, a restaurant, on New Street in 2021.
But in September 2022, the restaurant said it would be closing for two weeks with no specific reason given.
The vegan restaurant then appeared for sale on Rightmove for £325,000 with vacant possession.
It was then sold, and the new owners took over the business before the decision was taken to close it for good a second time.
Bond Wolfe said it is still waiting to see if the building will be featured in their December auction.
