RESIDENTS living near a proposed new town have voiced a variety of concerns about the plans.
And some have said they feel like their views aren't being considered.
The planned huge new town would be built next to Worcestershire Parkway station – around three miles from Worcester - and consist of 10,000 homes when it is completed.
The homes would be built in the next 30 years with the first 5,000 homes expected to be finished by 2041.
St Modwen Homes and Hallam Land Management have got the ball rolling by putting forward initial plans to build 2,500 new homes between the M5 near Worcester and Worcestershire Parkway.
There are plans to build thousands of new homes, schools, leisure and community facilities, shops, parks and a major new link road.
Residents in nearby Whittington village told us they have had mixed views on the plans.
Residents in Berkeley Close said: "We feel like we are nothing in all this, we haven't been consulted.
"We feel the decision has already been made."
Another resident said: "Villagers in Whittington, Norton and Stoulton are concerned.
"Our children and grandchildren will feel the burden of it. We feel underrepresented in this process".
But a resident in Church Lane said he was positive about it.
"We need more housing, more affordable housing," he said.
"I'm a parent of a 22-year-old who needs it.
"It is not exactly what I want, we will miss the fields - I'm hoping there will be a few left for dog walkers.
"It needs the infrastructure, the schools, the doctor's surgery. As long as there is that, in principle, I'm positive about it."
A resident of Harkaway Cottages, off Pershore Road, said: "Pershore Road is already busy, can you imagine it with thousands of homes nearby? "
And another resident in Pershore Road added: "There is going to be an impact.
"They changed Pershore Road from an A road to a B road - they have not maintained it.
"We overlook fields, we won't anymore.
"The schools are full - where are all the schoolchildren going to go?"
