The following cases were heard at Worcester Magistrates Court.

 

CAMERON NELMES, of Cranham Drive, Worcester, and previously of Chedworth Drive, Worcester, admitted theft from a shop. 

The court heard the 35-year-old stole £172.99 worth of meat items from Sainsbury's on July 19. 

Nelmes was ordered to pay compensation of £86.49 and fined £80. 

He was also ordered to pay costs of £135 and victim surcharge of £32. 

 

BEN LACEY, of Sidbury, denied affray and criminal damage.

The 36-year-old is accused of using or threatening unlawful violence on September 23.

And the prosecution alleges, on the same day, he damaged two chairs, a table,  a power tool, a skirting board and some flooring in Worcester.

Lacey originally entered not guilty pleas to the charges on September 26. 

He was told the next hearing of the case would take place on November 16.

 

VALENTIN IONITA, of St John's, Worcester, changed his plea to guilty to the charge of failing to provide a specimen for analysis. 

The 53-year-old committed the offence on September 3. 

A Newton hearing - an administrative hearing to determine the facts - was scheduled for January 15 next year.

Ionita will be sentenced after that hearing. 

 

WILLIAM BRISTOW, of Carrock Fell, Worcester, admitted drug driving. 

The 18-year-old was caught driving a Honda Civic in Castle Street, Worcester, on May 4 when he had 5.8 micrograms of cannabis in his system - the legal limit being 2 micrograms. 

Bristow is to be sentenced on January 29 next year - the adjournment being granted by magistrates to determine if there had been special reasons not to disqualify him. 

 

SHEZAN SHABIR, of HMP Whitemoor, is accused of assaulting two people at a Worcestershire prison.

The 31-year-old is accused of two charges of assaulting a person thereby occasioning them actual bodily harm. 

The prosecution alleges the assaults took place on December 18 last year at HMP Long Lartin. 

The case was adjourned until October 26 when he is expected to enter a plea to the charges.  

 

DANIEL SCULLY, of Chester Place, Malvern, admitted assault by beating.

The 31-year-old assaulted a woman in Worcester on January 21 the court heard.

Scully was given a 12-month community order with 2 months of specialised treatment and told to complete 20 rehabilitation days.

Scully was fined £40 and ordered to pay £135 costs and £114 victim surcharge.
