A WORCESTER city timber firm which closed suddenly in the summer owes more than £750,000 to companies and individuals across the UK, the Worcester News can reveal.
D&J Timber, based at the Blackpole Trading Estate East, has officially been liquidated new documents published Companies House show.
The firm was last open for trading on Friday, August 11 but, after locking the site up a day later, it has not been open since.
The door of the firm, which supplied sheds, garden buildings, landscape products, fencing, Durapost and decorative garden products, were bolted shut with bailiffs posting a Forfeiture Notice on behalf of landowners Lansdowne Rodway Estates Limited.
Daniel Cox ran the company with his mum Joy Cox until documents were posted on Companies House stating she would no longer be a person of significant control on September 20.
A meeting was held earlier this month and now the firm's listing on Companies House has been updated confirming the firm has gone into liquidation.
The published creditors list reveals the extent of the company's troubles.
The list, signed by firm owner Mr Cox on September 22, shows D&J owed £773,585.47 to 31 firms and individuals.
The highest amount listed is to Mrs J Cox.
The list says she is owed £268,100.
Second highest is listed as consumer creditors, owed £71,481, while the third is Robert Smith who, the document says, is owed £68,000.
YouLend, a firm based in London, is owed £40,181; Funding Circle, another firm based in London, is owed £31,902; Barclaycard Commercial is owed £21,562; while Lincolnshire firm Arbor Forest Products is owed £18,448.
Employees are owed £19,691 while Lansdowne is owed £35,604.

A reporter visited the former D&J site at Unit D1 of the trading estate on Monday (October 16), and found the gates still locked.
The site looked completely untouched from when employees were told to leave with a number of materials left out in the open in the same position they have been for weeks.
Advertising banners are also still on display on a bridge not far from the trading estates' entrance.
Attempts to contact the firm's owners have been unsuccessful.
The firm's website, d&jtimberbuildings.com, is not in operation while the firm's Facebook site cannot be accessed.
D&J Timber Buildings was included in our Trader of the Week feature in 2022 when the firm announced it was moving from premises to a new larger base.
